drift

terms of service

last updated May 22, 2026

These terms govern your use of drift (the "Service"), operated by the drift team ("we", "us"). By creating an account, entering as a guest, or making any purchase, you agree to these terms in full. If you don’t agree, don’t use the Service.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to create an account, host a stream, send gifts, purchase tokens, or send direct messages on drift. Guest viewing of non-adult, public streams is available without an account, but is still restricted to users 18 or older.

If we discover you are under 18, we will terminate your account immediately, void any token balance, and report applicable activity to law enforcement where required.

2. Your account

  • You are responsible for the security of your sign-in credentials (Google account, magic-link email, or password). We are not liable for losses from unauthorized access caused by your failure to safeguard them.
  • You agree to provide accurate information at signup, including legitimate banking details if you request creator payouts.
  • One account per person. Bypass attempts (multi-accounting, ban evasion, fake identity for ID verification) are grounds for termination and forfeiture of token balance and pending payouts.

3. Content policy — what is NOT allowed

drift is an adult-friendly social platform, not an adult-entertainment platform. The following content is prohibited anywhere on the Service (streams, chat, DMs, avatars, thumbnails, room titles, profile bios, gift descriptions):

  • Sexually explicit content — including nudity, simulated sexual acts, visible genitalia, masturbation, sex toys in use, ejaculation, anal/oral content, fetish acts shown explicitly, "upskirt", "down-blouse", or content where the primary intent is sexual gratification.
  • Pornography of any kind, including animated, drawn, AI-generated, or deepfake.
  • Content sexualizing minors in any form, including suggestive posing of minors, lolicon / shotacon, or AI-generated minor imagery. Reported immediately to NCMEC.
  • Non-consensual intimate imagery ("revenge porn") or any sexual content of an identifiable person without verified consent.
  • Solicitation of paid sexual services, escorting, or trafficking-adjacent activity.
  • Bestiality, necrophilia, or incest content.
  • Graphic violence, gore, real-world torture, suicide instructions, or self-harm encouragement.
  • Terrorism, violent extremism, or content promoting designated terrorist organizations.
  • Sale or promotion of illegal drugs, weapons, stolen credentials, or other regulated goods.
  • Hate speech, slurs, or content dehumanizing people based on race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or national origin.
  • Harassment, doxxing, threats, stalking, or coordinated brigading.
  • Impersonation of another person, brand, or drift staff.
  • Spam, scams, phishing, malware, or unauthorized advertising.
  • Copyright or trademark infringement (see §7).

Adult-category streams ("18+") on drift allow frank conversation about adult topics (relationships, dating, lifestyle, mature comedy). They do not permit sexual content as defined above. The same rules apply.

We use a mix of automated detection, viewer reports, and human review. Violations result in immediate stream termination, content removal, account suspension, and where applicable, permanent ban with forfeiture of pending earnings and tokens.

4. Adult category and verification

To host an adult-category stream you must complete ID verification: a government-issued photo ID and a live selfie that match. We retain ID images only as long as needed for verification review and abuse investigation, after which they are deleted in accordance with the Privacy Policy.

To watch an adult-category stream you must confirm you are 18+ via the in-app age gate. This confirmation is recorded against your account.

ID verification does not grant permission to post sexual content. The Content Policy (§3) applies regardless of category, age confirmation, or verification status.

5. Tokens, gifts, and payments

  • Tokens are a license to access features, not currency. They have no cash value, cannot be transferred between users (except through the gift system), and are not refundable once delivered to your account, except as required by law.
  • Token purchases are final once the payment processor confirms success and tokens are credited. Chargebacks initiated without contacting us first are considered fraud; the disputed token amount is clawed back, the account is flagged, and a second dispute results in permanent suspension.
  • Gifts are final. Once sent, tokens transfer to the recipient host with the platform’s share retained.
  • Creator payouts. Hosts may request withdrawal of earnings (capped at gift and VIP entry earnings only — you cannot withdraw money you topped up). Payouts are processed manually to the bank details you provide and typically settle within 7–14 business days. We reserve the right to delay or refuse payouts pending dispute resolution, verification review, or investigation.
  • You are responsible for any taxes on your earnings. We may issue tax forms where required by law and may withhold from payouts as required by tax authorities.
  • Pricing, gift catalog, payout minimums, and revenue share may change with notice on the Service.

6. Your content license

You retain ownership of the content you stream, post, or send on drift. By posting, you grant drift a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, transmit, and display your content as needed to operate the Service (including caching on our CDN, thumbnail generation, and showing your content to viewers). This license ends when you delete the content or your account, except for content already shared with other users (e.g., DMs received).

You represent that you have all rights necessary to grant this license and that your content does not violate any third party’s rights or these terms.

7. DMCA & copyright

Send copyright complaints to [email protected]. A valid notice must include:

  1. Your signature (physical or electronic).
  2. Identification of the copyrighted work claimed.
  3. The URL or sufficient identification of the infringing content on drift.
  4. Your contact information.
  5. A statement that you have a good-faith belief the use is unauthorized.
  6. A statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information is accurate and you are authorized to act on the rightsholder’s behalf.

Repeat infringers are terminated.

8. Termination and suspension

We may suspend or terminate your account at any time, with or without notice, if we reasonably believe you have violated these terms, the Community Guidelines, or applicable law. Termination may include forfeiture of remaining token balance and pending payouts where the violation involves fraud, chargebacks, prohibited content, or harm to other users.

You may close your account at any time by emailing[email protected]. Closing the account does not entitle you to a refund of unspent tokens.

9. Liability and disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee uptime, error-free operation, that streams will be saved, or that messages will be delivered.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, drift, its operators, employees, and partners are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising out of or in connection with the Service. Our total liability for any claim is capped at the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the 6 months before the claim, or (b) USD $100.

We are not responsible for content posted by users. You interact with other users at your own risk. Report illegal or abusive content via the in-app report flow or to[email protected].

10. Changes

We may update these terms. Material changes will be announced on the landing page or via in-app notification at least 7 days before they take effect. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.

11. Governing law & disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the operator’s primary jurisdiction. Disputes will be resolved by binding arbitration on an individual basis; class actions and jury trials are waived. Nothing here prevents you from filing a small-claims action in a court of competent jurisdiction, or contacting your local consumer-protection authority.
