drift is built for honest, live conversation. These guidelines tell you what is welcome, what isn’t, and what happens when someone crosses the line.
The short version
- Be 18+. Be real. Be respectful.
- Adult conversation is fine. Adult content isn’t.
- If you’d feel weird showing it to a colleague, don’t stream it.
What gets you banned immediately
These get a permanent ban on first violation, with forfeiture of any token balance and pending payouts. Where required, they are also reported to law enforcement or NCMEC.
- Sexual content involving minors, in any form, real or simulated.
- Non-consensual intimate imagery (“revenge porn”) or sexual content of an identifiable person without their verified consent.
- Trafficking, escort solicitation, or coordinating illegal sex work.
- Credible threats of violence against an identifiable person or group.
- Doxxing — publishing private addresses, ID numbers, or contact details of another person without consent.
- Promotion of or recruitment for designated terrorist organizations.
- Sale of weapons, hard drugs, stolen credentials, or hacked accounts.
- Stalking, repeated targeted harassment after a clear request to stop, or coordinated brigading.
- Payment fraud — fraudulent card purchases, money laundering through self-gifting, or multi-account refund abuse.
Adult-category rules
The 18+ category on drift is for frank conversation about adult topics — dating, relationships, sexuality, kink in the abstract, lifestyle, mature comedy. To host you must be ID-verified. To watch you must confirm you’re 18+.
What you can do in 18+:
- Talk explicitly about sex, dating, body image, drugs (in an educational / personal-story sense), or any topic an adult can discuss with another adult.
- Show suggestive but fully clothed outfits (lingerie, swimsuits, club attire) where the primary intent is the conversation, not titillation.
- Discuss your own work in adult industries from a personal / professional perspective.
What you still cannot do:
- Strip, masturbate, simulate sex acts, expose breasts / genitalia / anus, or engage in erotic role-play on camera.
- Solicit sexual content or in-person sexual contact.
- Link, gift-bait, or DM viewers to off-platform sexual content (OnlyFans-style funneling). You may mention your other platforms in a profile bio; you cannot turn drift into a redirector.
- Use the category as a workaround to bypass the Content Policy in §3 of the Terms.
If you’re unsure whether a stream is allowed, default to the non-adult category. We would rather you stream than worry.
Chat & DMs
- Slurs, hate speech, and dehumanizing language directed at any protected class are removed on sight. Repeat offenders are banned.
- Suggestive flirting between consenting adults is fine. Unsolicited explicit messages, persistent unwanted attention, or threats are not.
- Don’t use DMs to send images that would violate the Content Policy in a public stream.
- Don’t use chat / DMs to share other users’ personal information without permission.
Gifts and tokens
- Gifts are a thank-you. Once sent, they’re final.
- Hosts may not demand explicit content in return for a gift. Doing so is a Content Policy violation and risks the host’s account.
- Coordinated self-gifting to launder chargebacks into payouts is fraud and ends the account.
Hosting standards
- Show your face when you go live unless the stream context clearly justifies otherwise (music performance, art screen-share, etc.). Black screens, looped video, and pretending to be live when you’re not all break the trust the audience came for.
- Title your room honestly. Don’t bait viewers with a title the stream doesn’t deliver.
- Don’t play loud copyrighted music continuously. Background ambient is fine; full DJ-set rebroadcasts are a copyright risk.
- If you have co-hosts on stage, you’re responsible for what they do.
How we enforce
Reports are reviewed by humans, usually within hours. Outcomes:
- Warning — first low-severity violation, content removed.
- Timeout — 24h to 7-day restriction on hosting, chat, or DMs.
- Suspension — account locked pending investigation; token balance frozen.
- Permanent ban — account terminated, token balance and pending payouts forfeited. Used for severe or repeat violations.
Chargeback-related suspensions are automated: two disputed payments trigger a lock (Terms §5). Appeals go to[email protected].
How to report
In-app: tap the report icon on a room, message, or profile. Off-app: email[email protected] with a link or screenshot. Include the room ID or username, the time, and a short description.
For child-safety reports we accept anonymous tips. You can also report directly toNCMEC or to your local law enforcement.
Appeals
